What is Klarna?
Klarna is a third party payment service that helps buyers who meet certain criteria to shop now and pay over time. You can buy items for the same price as with other payment methods on Depop but you have more time to pay.
Klarna is now available to use as a payment method for almost all buyers in the United States who are aged 18 and over.
To qualify for payment in instalments with Klarna, the order must be between $25 USD and $1,500 USD before any discounts, postage and taxes, and the seller must not be registered as a non-profit with Stripe.
Klarna allows you to split your purchase into 4 interest-free instalments*.
*CA resident loans made or arranged pursuant to a California Financing Law license.
What does this mean for me as a seller?
If you are a seller on Depop, nothing will change for you. If a buyer pays for a purchase with Klarna you will receive the payment in your Depop Balance as usual.

What does this mean for me as a buyer?
If you are a buyer on Depop with a billing address in the US and meet Klarna’s criteria, you will see that on some items you now have the option to checkout with Klarna.
In order to offer you Klarna’s payment methods, we pass your personal data in the form of contact and order details to Klarna at checkout, in order for Klarna to assess whether you qualify for their payment methods and to tailor those payment methods for you. Your personal data transferred is processed in line with Klarna’s own privacy notice.
On certain qualifying purchases, you can pay via Klarna Bank AB (publ), Sveavägen 46, 111 34 Stockholm, Sweden. Payment is to be made to Klarna. You can find further information and Klarna’s user terms here.
