How to use Klarna to pay in instalments - US

If Klarna, a third party payments services provider, is available to you as a payment option, you can pay for certain items on Depop in instalments with Klarna. Your payments are made directly to Klarna.

In order to offer you Klarna’s payment methods, we pass your personal data in the form of contact and order details to Klarna at checkout, in order for Klarna to assess whether you qualify for their payment methods and to tailor those payment methods for you. Your personal data transferred is processed in line with Klarna’s own privacy notice.

On certain qualifying purchases, you can pay via Klarna Bank AB (publ), Sveavägen 46, 111 34 Stockholm, Sweden. Payment is to be made to Klarna. You can find further information and Klarna’s user terms here.

Please spend responsibly. Borrowing more than you can afford could seriously affect your financial status. Make sure you can afford your monthly repayments on time.

How to pay using Klarna instalments in the US

To qualify for payment in instalments with Klarna, the order must be between $25 USD and $1,500 USD before any discounts, postage and taxes.

There is one Klarna option available in the US: 4 interest-free instalments*. With this option, you’ll pay the first instalment via Klarna when checking out on Depop. For the remaining three instalments, you’ll pay every two weeks, until you’ve paid a total of four times. You won’t be charged interest or fees when paying on time.

*CA resident loans made or arranged pursuant to a California Finance Lenders Law licence.

Klarna may charge a late fee if you do not pay on time. Learn more here.

I don’t see Klarna as an option

There are a few reasons why you may not see the option to pay with Klarna:

  • You must be using a US billing address. Make sure your location, language, and currency are correct. Learn how to check your regional preferences here.
  • Klarna is only available for buyers who are over 18.
  • The order total must be between $25 USD and $1,500 USD after any discounts, postage and taxes to qualify for Klarna, so you may need to either adjust your basket or select another payment method.
  • If the seller is registered as a non-profit with Stripe, you won’t see the option to pay with Klarna.
