At Depop, we know that only 10-30% of items donated to charity shops end up on the shop floor, while 73% of clothing produced annually is incinerated or landfilled. Which is why we are focused on increasing demand for unwanted clothes by encouraging a wider audience that selling and buying second hand is undeniably a better option for the planet and its people. Charity shops have a major role to play here and that is why we offer charity shops the opportunity to sell on Depop so they can reach a younger demographic with a wider offering than they can on their shop floors and, in most cases, trade online for the first time.
In order to support charities to launch a Depop shop and adjust to selling on Depop, we offer any registered charity a verified blue tick on your shop profile to show potential buyers that you are an authorised charity and trusted member of our community, and a Depop fee exemption* until 1st December 2020.
To register for this please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your Depop username, full details of your charity (registration number, certificates, location) and a member of the Seller experience team will get back in touch with you shortly after.
*The standard Depop fee of 10% will be waived from the point that your shop is verified by a member of our team, this excludes Depop Payments or PayPal transaction fee.
