We would suggest covering the basics:
- Check out how to buy safely
If you are thinking about giving your child a permission to use your PayPal account, or payment card, for Depop please remember that the account holder is responsible for responding any transaction disputes opened through PayPal. (When connecting PayPal to Depop, the selling fee is approved as a pre-approved payment, and will be taken every time you sell something) You must be over 18 to sign up to PayPal.
Payments and PayPal
To buy on Depop a user can complete the checkout using a PayPal account or using a payment card to use Guest Checkout. Both are covered by Depop and PayPal Buyer Protection.
The age restriction means that in order to sell anything on Depop anyone who is under 18 needs to use the PayPal account of someone who is 18 or older, so we always advise younger users to have a chat with their parent or guardian.
Can I access my child's Depop account?
We appreciate that you want your child to be safe online, but we cannot allow access to their account or take any action on their behalf based on your request. We are following privacy laws here that clearly state we are only able to give account access to the authorised account holder.
