You can refund your buyer with one tap. Just head over to the Depop app > receipts > the sale > refund. Once you hit the refund button, the money will return to the buyer’s bank account and your fees will automatically be refunded back to you. The buyer should see their refund back in their bank account within 5-10 days.
If you don’t have enough in your balance because the funds have been paid out, it will automatically be sent from your linked bank account. If you don’t have enough in your balance because the funds have already been paid out to you, it will automatically be sent from your linked bank account, and your Stripe account will effectively go into a negative balance.
If you do have a negative Stripe balance, this is due to issuing refunds to buyers at a point when your balance was zero or low amount. In those situations if you did not have the funds to cover the cost of the item you were refunding, Stripe would just put the account into a negative balance, essentially to avoid new payments failing. This will be the reason for any missing Payouts or why you haven’t received your most recent Payouts, as any new payments would just be used to cancel out that negative balance first!
Payouts should resume normally following more Depop Payments sales and your balance being our of negative!
