On Friday (October 11th, 2019), PayPal will make some changes to their terms and conditions that will affect our sellers in the US, France and Australia. More information is available on their website but we wanted to outline how these changes may affect you as a seller.
What are the changes?
From 11th October, PayPal will no longer return the transaction fee (2.9% + 30¢) when you refund a buyer’s payment.
How will this affect your business?
Once the changes are implemented you’ll likely see higher costs when offering returns and added charges when disputes are opened and decided against you.
What can you do about it?
The key is to reduce your chances as much as possible of having a buyer open a dispute. The easiest way to do this is to make sure your description is as accurate and detailed as possible: be thorough if you are selling second-hand goods and make sure to include the measurements where possible.
