In light of the global pandemic of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), we will be continuously updating this Help Centre article with new updates and information to make sure all of our users feel safe and supported.
We know buyers and sellers on the app are temporarily being impacted in different ways by this situation. Below we’ve provided links to our Seller and Buyer FAQs by country made by our global seller experience and community support teams to deliver the most relevant guidance and advice for you.
The Depop community is our first priority. Always has been. Always will be. You’ve changed fashion for your generation and inspired an industry to rethink its impact on the world. The future is dependent on you in many different ways right now.
Shop online, ship from home
The good news is that you can support Depop sellers by shopping as you always have and help small businesses make ends meet. Shipping might take a bit longer, or might not happen for a while. We’re recommending all our sellers to use home collection delivery services. Click on the above FAQs for guidance on how what services are available in your territory.
Keep the lines open
We want to keep talking to you – spotlighting sellers you should know, sharing new content and using our platform to find ways we can inspire each other from home. So keep talking to us. Tell us what you want to know, share what you’re wearing and what you’re doing to get through this with #DepopOnLock. And as always, tweet, DM and comment on our posts.
Listings associated with Covid-19
We’ve made this decision because public health guidance now advises to cover your face in public spaces. We want to support our community as they follow that advice, without directing vital resources away from those who need them most, like medical and healthcare workers.
We will continue to block and remove listings that sell medical masks and respirators, hand sanitizers/gels and disinfectant wipes as well as any listings that mention COVID-19, coronavirus or 2019nCoV in the title or description. As always, we’ll continue to make adjustments to our policies in line with any new developments of COVID-19. For more information regarding this policy, please visit our Help Centre.
How you can help
We encourage all of our users to support their local charities and communities in need, in any way you can. Any donation can make a difference, even if it’s volunteering your time or posting about how to stay safe. Here are a few tips for how you can get involved and links to charitable organizations supporting on-the-ground efforts across the world.
- Share the facts. Stay up-to-date with the latest facts by regularly checking public health authorities like the World Health Organization. Only share facts they provide on social media to keep you, your family, and friends informed and at ease.
- Donate canned goods. Find your nearest food bank to donate non-perishable food e.g. canned foods and dried foods, to support people whose lives have been most affected by Coronavirus.
- Care for your mental health. Take a break from social media and from watching or reading the news if you’re feeling anxious. Use resources like Checkpoint to find organisations in your country that provide emergency response to any mental health concerns you might have.
- Give back. These global organisations are accepting donations to provide goods and services, emergency staffing, protective equipment and supplies, and immediate health needs to affected communities around the world.
Don’t doubt the difference you can make
Things around us will keep changing and we know it can feel frustrating and confusing. Staying home helps others stay safe. You’ve heard it before but it’s true – we’re in this together. So, don’t doubt the difference you can make.
