Why is Depop Payments a requirement?
We want to improve the overall experience for buyers and sellers on Depop. That means empowering sellers to increase their chances of selling, by giving buyers more ways to pay. More payment options mean even more potential customers for every seller. It’s a win-win.
As a seller, it also means you’ll be able to
– Get paid directly into your bank account.
– See all your sales in-app.
– Offer refunds without leaving the app.
– Sell safely with Depop Payments Seller Protection Policy and ship straight away without having to wait for payment first.
Make sure to sign up by 8 December (if you’re based in the United Kingdom) and 10 January 2022 (if you’re based in the United States) to keep listing.
As Depop Payments is now a requirement, this means that once you’ve signed up, you won’t be able to turn off Depop Payments again.
Depop Payments is powered by Stripe Connect, and will offer sellers the same level of protection as Paypal. Read more about Depop’s Seller Protection Policy here.
Do I have to pay to set up Depop Payments?
No, it's free to set up. Learn more about Depop’s fees here.
Can I turn off Paypal now?
We want to give buyers as many options to pay as possible. Practically speaking, this means all sellers are still required to offer Paypal as a payment option and keep their account connected. Learn more about Depop’s Terms of Service here.
