Boosted Listings
Boosted Listings is a tool that helps sellers promote their listings to a wider audience, increasing their chances of selling.
When you boost a listing, it will appear as both a boosted (tagged with a "boosted" tag) and an organic listing, in search and Suggested for you pages. Boosting adds an extra placement that helps your items appear higher and reach more buyers. If a buyer finds and purchases your item without seeing it in a boosted tile, no boosting fee applies, so it’s risk-free.
The option to boost your listings only becomes available 28 days after you sign up to Depop, so new users will need to wait to use this tool.
How to boost
There are two ways to boost: either individual listings or your whole shop.
If you have a specific item you want to promote, such as a seasonal piece or just one you want to give a bit more exposure:
- Go to My Depop
- Tap Bulk Actions, then Boost
-
Select the items you want to boost
You can also promote your entire shop to increase visibility for all your listings. Enabling this will automatically boost every listing, including all new listings.
- Go to My Depop
- Tap My account (also labelled Settings), and scroll down to Boost shop under Sell more
-
Follow the steps to activate
If you want to unboost, you have two options:
- Unboost shop – stops Boost Shop and prevents future listings from being automatically boosted, but current listings remain boosted
- Unboost shop & listings – stops Boost Shop and also unboosts all currently boosted listings in your shop
If you unboost a single item while Boost Shop is active, it will also deactivate your shop, and future listings will no longer be automatically boosted.
Boosting fees
You’ll only pay a boosting fee if a buyer interacts with your boosted listing (views, clicks, or likes it) and then purchases the item within 28 days. Charges differ depending on where you live.
In the UK or US:
- if you boost an individual listing, a 12% boosting fee on the item sale price (excluding taxes) and any shipping costs, if you arrange your own
- if you boost everything in your shop through Boost Shop, 12% boosting fee on the item sale price (excluding taxes) and any shipping costs, if you arrange your own
The 12% fee is reflected in expanded placements across the For You page and Search in the United States and UK.
In Australia:
- if you boost an individual listing, an 8% boosting fee on the item sale price (excluding taxes) and any shipping costs, if you arrange your own
- if you boost everything in your shop through Boost Shop, 8% boosting fee on the item sale price (excluding taxes) and any shipping costs if you arrange your own
You can stop boosting at any time. However, if a buyer sees your boosted listing before you unboost and then buys your item within 28 days, a boosting fee will still apply.
These fees are in addition to selling fees (payable outside of the United Kingdom and United States) and payment processing fees. They are effective from 23 March and form part of our Terms of Service.
You can check if a sale came from a boosted listing by going to Payments, Latest transactions, and then Receipts.
Tracking your boosting performance
Boosting doesn’t just give your listings more visibility – it also unlocks more performance stats, so you can better understand how buyers are interacting with your items.
By boosting your items or shop, you’ll be able to see:
- Total views: How many times your item has been seen
- Total clicks: How many times someone has clicked into your listing
- % increase in views from boosting: See how much more traffic you’re driving to your listing thanks to boosting. This is calculated by comparing boosted views to organic views from the time you boost your listing
- % increase in clicks from boosting: This is calculated by comparing boosted clicks to organic clicks from the time you boost your listing
These insights help you learn what’s working and which listings are getting the most attention.
