How to ship - US
Sold an item? Congrats! Here’s everything you need to know about shipping it.
Remember, most sellers ship within 2 days, so ship as soon as you can to increase your chances of receiving a 5-star review from your buyer.
Package your items
It’s time to get your items ready to ship.
- If you’re reusing a box, make sure it’s a clean slate — peel off or cover any old shipping labels, barcodes, or hazmat stickers. Carriers may delay or return packages with these markings, and we won’t be able to cover you if that happens.
- If you don’t have any packaging lying around, opt for eco-friendly packaging materials like recycled paper.
- If you’re in the US, you can purchase sustainable Depop-branded packaging from our partner EcoEnclose.
- Choose an appropriately-sized package for your items — packages too large can cause unnecessary waste.
- Make sure everything is packaged securely so it doesn’t get damaged in transit. Some carriers may have their own packaging guidelines, so remember to check those before you ship.
If you haven’t shipped the order within 10 days of purchase, it will automatically be canceled and the buyer will receive a full refund.
Get your shipping label
If you use Depop Shipping (via USPS)
USPS is currently experiencing delays due to the wintery weather. Please allow extra time for scanning parcels. You can check the latest updates for your area on their website.
Depop Shipping via USPS is fully tracked, so there’s no need to manually add tracking or mark your order as shipped. Easy!
If you select Depop Shipping, you must then use the label generated on Depop to ship the item. If you don’t, and instead ship using a different method, you won’t be covered by Depop Protection for sellers, and your order may be automatically canceled and refunded.
There are a few ways you can get your shipping label:
By email
- We’ll email you a QR code you can use to ship at your nearest USPS drop-off location. (We’ll also include a downloadable shipping label you can print at home if that’s easier for you.)
iOS
- Open the app
- Tap My Depop, then Sold
- Select the item you want to ship, then select Ship your item now to view your QR code and printable shipping label
Android
- Open the app
- Tap Selling Hub, then scroll down and select Sold items
- Select the item you want to ship, then select View shipping label to view your QR code and printable shipping label
Web
- Go to Depop.com
- Click on your profile picture in the top right-hand corner
- Select Your selling hub
- In the left-hand menu on this page, select Sold
- Select the item you want to ship, then in the drawer that opens on the right you can view your QR code and printable shipping label
If your shipping method is set to ‘Other’
This means you’re not currently using Depop Shipping, and you won’t automatically receive a pre-paid shipping label — you’ll need to organize and pay for shipping yourself.
If you choose this method, always use tracked shipping and be sure to add the tracking info to the receipt and mark the order as shipped in the app or on web to complete your sale.
You won't be able to amend the tracking information once added so be sure to be extra careful.
If you don’t add your tracking info to the receipt within 10 days of the sale, your order will be canceled and the buyer will be refunded.
You can add tracking info and mark as shipped by:
iOS
- Open the app
- Tap My Depop, then Sold
- Select the item you want to ship, then scroll down to see an option to mark as shipped and add tracking
Android
- Open the app
- Tap Selling Hub, then scroll down and select Sold items
- Select the item you want to ship, then scroll down to see an option to mark as shipped and add tracking
Web
- Go to Depop.com
- Click on your profile picture in the top right-hand corner
- Select Your selling hub
- In the left-hand menu on this page, select Sold
- Select the item you want to ship, and check the drawer on the right to see an option to mark as shipped and add tracking
If you don’t know what your shipping method is
To check which shipping method you’re using:
iOS
- Open the app
- Tap My Depop, then My account in the top-right corner
- Under Settings, choose Shipping settings to see which shipping method you’re set to
Android
- Open the app
- Tap Selling Hub, then scroll down to Shop settings
- Select Shipping to view your shipping settings, including which shipping method you’re set to
Web
- Go to Depop.com
- Click on your profile picture in the top right-hand corner
- Select Your selling hub
- In the left-hand menu on this page, select Shop settings
- Select Shipping to view your shipping settings, including which shipping method you’re set to.
