Using PayPal on Depop
PayPal is available only to users outside the US, UK, and Australia, but you don’t need a PayPal account to buy and sell on Depop.
If a seller uses PayPal for their sales, you should be able to check out as a guest. Just select 'Pay with credit/debit card', and you’ll be redirected to complete the purchase as a guest.
However, you may need to set one up for purchases PayPal deems as higher risk. For more info, contact PayPal.
Connecting your PayPal account
If you’ve already got an account, it’s easy to connect it to your Depop account:
iOS
- Open the app
- Tap My Depop, then tap My Account (also labeled Settings) in the top-right corner
- Scroll down and select Preferences, then PayPal to connect or disconnect your PayPal account
Android
- Open the app
- Tap My Depop, then tap My Account (also labeled Settings) in the top-right corner
- Scroll down and select PayPal account to connect or disconnect your PayPal account
I have a PayPal transaction I don’t recognize
We don’t have any access to your PayPal, bank, or credit card details, and can never take any unauthorized payments from you.
However, if you have a negative balance in your PayPal account when you buy or sell something on Depop, you’ll be charged the total of the transaction, plus the pending negative balance you owe to PayPal.
PayPal will then charge that total amount on the bank account/card linked to your PayPal account, which will show as 'PAYPAL/DEPOPLIMITED' payment in your bank/card statement.
