Tips for describing your item
Writing a clear and informative description for your item is key to helping you sell. And sell faster.
Giving as much info as possible on your items will make them easier to find and more likely to appear in search results.
What to include in your description
- Start with a title: add relevant words that you would search for as a buyer
- Add measurements and fit notes: sizes can vary between brands, so add the exact measurements of the item and let buyers know how it fits
- Describe the condition of the item: noting any flaws or signs of wear
- Add shipping info and any bundle options
Keep it short and to the point. Only include relevant words, hashtags, brands, and tags. We automatically generate tags and keywords to add to your listing, so you can stick with those or add your own.
Don’t forget the details
The more complete your listing is, the better we can match it to buyer searches. Make sure you add all relevant item info and tags, including:
- Category and subcategory (to help buyers find the exact item they want)
- Brand
- Price (we’ll suggest one based on similar items currently on Depop)
- Color (you can add up to two)
- Style
- Quantity (if applicable)
Finally, include plenty of photos to support your description — especially showing any flaws buyers should know about.
