I received an email about a recent login to Depop
To keep your account safe, we might notify you when someone logs in from a new device, browser or location.
Why did I get this email?
Whenever there’s a login from an unfamiliar device, browser or place, we send you an email to check it’s you. It doesn’t always mean there’s a problem but it helps us make sure your account stays protected.
I don’t recognize this login
If you didn’t just log in, someone else might have access to your account. Here’s what you should do to protect it:
-
Secure your account
How you secure your account depends on how you log in to Depop.
If we usually send you a link to your email to log in:
- Change the password to your email account as someone may have access to your email inbox
If you usually log in using Google or Apple (SSO):
- Go to your Google or Apple account security settings
- Review your recent activity and secure your account there
If you usually log in using your email and password:
- Change the password on your Depop account
-
Review your Depop account
Check things like your messages, purchases, listings and Depop balance to see if there’s been any unusual activity. If you suspect something isn’t right, contact us and we’ll help.
-
Turn on two-factor authentication (2FA)
To give your account an extra layer of protection, we strongly recommend you turn on two-factor authentication for your account.
It was me who logged in but the location looks wrong
Login locations are estimates. You might see a place you don’t recognize because:
- Your internet provider’s IP is registered elsewhere
- You’re on mobile data, which can route through different cities
- You’re using a VPN or proxy
