Feedback on Depop

Feedback is a great way for potential buyers to make informed decisions about a seller, and for sellers to learn more about those buying from them. It can include information about the item, interactions, or how the transaction went.

Reliable feedback is important for our users, so we’ve established a feedback policy that all users must follow.

This policy forms part of our Terms of Service, and non-compliance may result in your review being removed and/or action being taken against your account.

How star ratings work

Each review will include a star rating out of 5. This gives potential buyers and sellers an idea of how the user has acted during previous sales, and helps you understand how trustworthy they are.

It’s important to remember that your own rating is calculated using a set amount of reviews over a limited time period, so it’s normal for your rating to fluctuate.

Leaving feedback

When you leave feedback on Depop, you’ll be asked to rate your transaction out of 5 stars and leave a comment.

Any feedback you leave must be based on your genuine experience, whether positive or negative. Reviews that are not based on your genuine experience are strictly prohibited.

If another user has incentivized you to leave feedback on your transaction with them – for example, by offering you a refund, a discount, or any other benefit in exchange for posting a review  – you must add the following wording at the start of your comment: "Commissioned Feedback".

Your feedback should, however, still reflect your genuine experience.

To leave feedback:

App

  • Head to My Depop
  • Choose Purchases/Sold and select which item you want to leave feedback for
  • Tap the Leave feedback button. You’ll be prompted to confirm you have received and checked the item, as feedback can’t be edited once submitted.
  • Once you’ve set a rating and left feedback, tap the tick in the top right-hand corner to submit

Web

  • Go to either Purchases, or Your Selling Hub then Sold
  • Click on the item you want to leave feedback for
  • Scroll down and click Leave Feedback
  • Choose a star rating and leave a review
  • Click Submit Feedback

Requesting feedback

You’re free to request feedback from another user on their transaction with you.

You can incentivize them to provide you with feedback – for example, by offering a refund, discount, or any other benefit in exchange for posting a review  – but they must add "Commissioned Feedback" to the beginning of their review.

You must not ask the user, however, to leave feedback that does not reflect their genuine experience.

Removing feedback

Feedback can only be deleted via the app. If you need to remove:

  • Head to My Depop
  • Choose Purchases/Sold and select which item you want to remove feedback for
  • Tap on the stars under the username to open your previous feedback
  • Tap on the trash can icon (in the top right of the screen)

Please note: Feedback can't be edited, and once deleted, it can't be restored, so make sure your feedback is accurate.

Reporting a user

You can report suspicious or inappropriate behavior by other users either directly from their profile or by contacting support.

If you see users leaving and/or receiving feedback that goes against this Feedback policy, please also report these users.

Your report is not published and is reviewed directly by Depop.

If you’ve reported a user, you can still also leave feedback, and vice versa.

How to address inaccurate or abusive feedback

If you feel the feedback you’ve received doesn’t reflect the user’s genuine experience or includes abusive content, you can report the feedback:

  • Go to the contact us form
  • Under What can we help you with?, choose either Buying or Selling
  • Select I have an issue with a purchase I’ve already made, or I have an issue with an item I’ve sold
  • Then choose Request feedback removal
  • Complete the rest of the form, including as much proof of your position as possible
  • Tap on Submit

We’ll review the feedback and take appropriate action.
