Make Offer
The offers feature can help you buy and sell at a price that’s right for you. Get quicker sales, better prices, and a dedicated place to track all your offers.
Buyers
If you find an item you love but the price isn't quite right, our Make Offer feature can make negotiating easier, save you the back-and-forth conversations, and help you get items you love at a price you want.
How it works
- Tap the Make offer button on the listing to let the seller know the price you’re willing to pay
- The seller has 24 hours to accept, decline, or counter your offer. If there’s no response within 24 hours, the offer expires.
Right now, you can’t send offers on items outside your country. But you can still purchase them at the original price.
We’ll send a push notification to let you know if your offer is accepted or declined by the seller. You can’t edit an offer once sent, and you can only have one active offer per item. However, if your offer is declined or it expires, you can make a new offer.
You can track the status of your offers in the Offers tab in your inbox or within chat:
- Accepted means your offer was accepted, and you can buy the item right away at your offer price
- Pending means your offer hasn't been accepted or declined yet
- Declined means your offer was declined. If you’re still interested, try making a new offer.
- Expired means your offer wasn’t accepted or declined by the seller within 24 hours and is no longer valid
If the seller accepts your offer, you’ll have 24 hours to purchase the item at your offered price, plus any shipping costs.
The transaction is only completed once your offer is accepted and you buy the item at your agreed-upon price. Until you do this, someone else could buy it.
If the seller sends an offer, you can counteroffer by going to the Offers tab in your Inbox.
Sellers
Giving your buyers the option to make an offer on your items increases your chances of selling faster and makes it easier than ever to negotiate prices.
How it works
- We’ll notify you when a buyer makes an offer
- You’ll see all your offers by going to your Inbox
- You can accept, counter, or decline offers, but be quick as offers expire after 24 hours
- You can accept more than one offer. All buyers will be notified, and then it's first-come, first-served.
If the offer is too low, you can send a counteroffer to your buyer:
- Go to your Inbox
- Select the Selling offers tab and click on the item you wish to send a counteroffer for
- Enter the offer amount and Send
You can also set up Auto-respond to help manage offers and speed up sales.
If you accept an offer, we’ll notify the buyer so they can buy it at the agreed-upon price. Until they buy it, though, other buyers will be able to buy the item at the original price or make an offer on it.
The offer doesn’t include the shipping price, so if accepted, the buyer will also need to pay the shipping cost you’ve set for the item.
Benefits
- Makes it easier to identify your most interested buyers
- Negotiate a price that's right for you and your buyer
