How do I get a refund?

We hope you love all the items you purchase on Depop, but if something’s not right, we’re here to help.

When you purchase an item on Depop, you’re covered by Depop Protection, which means we’ll help you return your item for a full refund if it is not as described or you haven't received it

This protection covers:

  • Lost and damaged items
  • Incorrect sizes
  • Wrong colours
  • Counterfeit items
  • Severe damage to the item
  • Major wear or flaws not detailed on the listing
  • Incorrect items
  • Missing items in a bundle

We don’t cover:

  • Smells
  • Minor damage on second-hand or vintage items
  • Material that looks different to the images
  • Doesn’t fit or doesn’t look right
  • Changed your mind about wanting the item

If you’ve simply changed your mind about a purchase, sellers don’t have to offer you a refund. If your seller is a registered business, they’ll have their own returns policy; for everyone else, it’ll be the seller’s choice whether to accept a return.

If you’re unable to return the item, you could consider reselling it using Repop.

I haven't received my item

If you haven’t received your purchase within 30 days, and you paid via Depop Payments, you can raise an issue to request a refund or ask for proof of shipping.

If you paid through PayPal, go to PayPal to start a dispute.

My item is not as described

If you receive your item and it’s not as described, you can raise an issue with either Depop or PayPal within 30 days of purchase.

  • Go to My Depop
  • Choose the item you need help with
  • Select My order isn’t as described
  • Follow the steps to raise the issue

You’ll need to send over clear, well-lit images that detail the issues with the item, along with a description of how your item differs from the original listing.

In some cases, we may provide you with a full or partial refund, without needing you to return the item. Depop’s decision on item disputes is final.

Arranging a return

If we determine that the order is not as described, we’ll arrange a return and provide you with the seller’s address.

Items must be returned within 7 days, using tracked delivery. For US users, we'll provide a prepaid label for you to use for your return. For users outside of the US, we’ll cover the cost up to £20/$20, but you must provide us with a clear receipt showing the date of shipment and the seller's address.

Once the tracking shows as delivered, you’ll receive a full refund to your original payment method.

Repop your item

If your seller doesn’t agree to a return, you can Repop it, our tool which allows you to relist an item you’ve bought on Depop.

It’s quick and easy to do, and reduces the waste footprint of the item, keeping fashion circular and giving the item another life.

  • Go to My Depop
  • Tap the Purchases tab
  • Scroll down to the item and tap Repop
  • The item description and all relevant information will be auto-populated in a new listing page using the information from the original listing, but you can also edit if needed

Getting a fee refund

If you refund your buyer who paid with Depop Payments, you’ll automatically get any fees you paid refunded when the refund is processed.

If you sold through PayPal, you’ll need to fill out our contact form. We'll just need you to confirm:

  • The email address linked to your Depop account
  • Your Depop @username
  • Your buyer's Depop @username
  • Attach proof of full refund to the buyer (i.e., screenshot of the completed refund in your PayPal account)

You can refund your buyer directly from your PayPal account (via desktop only).
